What it does
MT-04
- 01 Chord tracking: root and quality from what is already sounding
- 02 Four styles as vibes: Anchor, Bounce, Walk, Drive
- 03 Transport-synced sixteenth grid, sample-accurate, with every note-on paired to its off
- 04 Humanise and slide-to-legato
- 05 Latch keeps the last chord walking after you let go
- 06 Thru option: pass your chords through when Footings sits mid-chain
The idea
Footings answers the question every sketch asks eventually: what is the bass doing? It listens to the chords already passing through, works out root and quality, and lays a line underneath in one of four styles named for how they feel, not what they are.
Anchor holds the floor, Bounce moves with the groove, Walk wanders home, Drive leans forward. Humanise keeps it from sounding typed, slide turns close notes into legato, and latch keeps the last chord walking while your hands do something else.
